The Video Department

THE VID CLIENT EXPERIENCE

You should always know what we’re making and why.

Working with VID means a shared plan, clear owners, honest communication, and video that has a job to do. Here is how we work with your team from the first conversation to the next decision.

Behind the scenes of a VID production session

THE FIRST CONVERSATION

We begin with the outcome, not a shot list.

We ask what video needs to change: more qualified discovery, stronger buyer trust, better sales conversations, clearer education, or a more consistent publishing presence. We look at the audience, existing assets, channels, internal capacity, and the point where work gets stuck.

Then we recommend one path: an ongoing department through VID Operate, a defined VID Project, an internal capability through VidOS™ Embed, or a live DOWNLOAD experience when that is the right fit.

ONCE WE BEGIN

A good start removes guesswork.

We align on your goals, the people involved, what must be approved, where video will live, the working cadence, and the first priorities. We establish the responsibilities and deliverables specific to your engagement in a shared plan.

FIRST 7 DAYS

VID Operate

Your system goes live fast: within seven days of kickoff, the working system is installed and videos are already publishing — then we run the ongoing program from there.

HOW THE WORK MOVES

The working rhythm

  1. STEP 1

    Plan

Choose the most useful stories and videos for the agreed audience and channel. Know the purpose and owner before production begins.

  2. STEP 2

    Create

VID coordinates the work in your scope: creative development, filming or recording, editing, and the assets agreed for delivery. Your experts bring the knowledge; we help make participation manageable.

  3. STEP 3

    Review

Stakeholders review against the agreed brief, message, and approvals. Feedback comes through the designated process so the team can make decisions and keep work moving.

  4. STEP 4

    Publish

We prepare assets for the agreed destinations and coordinate publishing responsibilities with your team. Each asset has a place and a next use.

  5. STEP 5

    Learn

We review the signals tied to the original purpose, identify what resonated, and use those findings to plan the next cycle.

Exact meeting frequency, deliverables, revision rounds, and publishing responsibilities are defined in each engagement.

A PARTNERSHIP WITH CLEAR ROLES

You own the knowledge. We help it move.

Your team identifies the people who know the story, gives timely access to the right information, names decision makers, and provides feedback within the agreed review window. VID translates that input into a plan, guides production, manages its agreed deliverables, and keeps the work connected to the outcome.

We aim to make participation focused and realistic. An expert should not need to become a scriptwriter or video editor to share what they know.

VID and your team, working from the same plan

Your team

  • Identifies the people who know the story
  • Gives timely access to the right information
  • Names decision makers
  • Provides feedback within the agreed review window

VID

  • Translates that input into a plan
  • Guides production
  • Manages its agreed deliverables
  • Keeps the work connected to the outcome

THE RIGHT SCORECARD

Measure the job of the video, not just the view count.

For an awareness series, that may include reach among the intended audience, relevant watch behavior, and search discovery. For a customer story, it may include usage by sales, engagement on a decision page, and qualified conversations it supports. For a production workflow, it may include how reliably good work gets from idea to publication.

We agree on the useful signals at the start, establish a baseline where possible, and discuss what the data can and cannot prove. Video can contribute to revenue without every view being directly attributable to a sale.

SAMPLEIllustrative; your metrics depend on your goals and available data.

Communication and ownership FAQ

We name the VID lead and your client-side decision maker during kickoff. Additional production roles depend on the scope.

The engagement plan identifies who reviews which assets and how final approval is recorded before release.

Ownership, usage rights, third-party licenses, project files, and raw footage are governed by the signed agreement. We will make those terms clear before production begins.

Bring the change to the shared plan. We’ll assess its effect on scope and schedule and agree on the next step before redirecting work.

Publishing support depends on the chosen path and agreed scope. We define ownership during kickoff so nothing sits ready with no one assigned to post it.

The timeline depends on the path, the asset, and the availability of contributors and approvals. Your engagement plan will include the milestones that apply to your work.

WHAT IT FEELS LIKE IN PRACTICE

Client voice

We have worked with VID on multiple projects and have been very impressed with their process. They are very thorough in pre-production communications and calls to ensure the shoot day goes off without a hitch, and post-production processing happens in a timely manner.
